Course / Workshop Content

Who is this for? This course is designed to help anyone affected by anxiety and stress. Whether you feel stressed and/or anxious or want to know more about the relationships between stress and anxiety, this course will provide you with an understanding of both emotions and how to manage them. What will I learn? This course will teach you about our ‘red brain’ and how anxiety and stress can impair our judgment and make us behave in antisocial ways. It will help you understand better your emotions and learn how to come down your ‘red brain’ and deal with challenging situations. In Part 1 we will investigate stress and the types of stress and stressors that can contribute to poor mental health, we will examine anxiety and the connection between stress and anxiety. We will explore our thinking traps, and we will challenge those unhelpful thinking patterns. In Part 2 we will explore ways to combat anxiety and gain control over it. We will practice different techniques, and you will leave with a set of strategies chosen by you that can support you as an individual How can I use what I learn? You will be able to use different techniques to soothe and self-regulate and create space between you and the triggering event that makes you stressed or anxious. The course will help you respond to life situations rather than react.
