Course / Workshop Content

Who is this for? Chronic pain can have an impact on our lives in many ways – physically, emotionally, our relationships and the relationship with ourselves. However, we can work towards almost befriending our pain by focusing our attention on life enhancing activities that are meaningful for us. This workshop aims to empower anyone struggling with chronic pain by providing them with the knowledge, strategies, and support needed to manage their pain more effectively and improve their overall well-being. What will I learn? This workshop will be a safe space to explore and understand chronic pain and how to manage it. We will work towards creating a personal baseline for our daily activities so that we are able to engage in tasks without the fear of ‘over doing it’ and without over stretching ourselves. We will learn self-kindness practices for those days in which we struggle with pain, and we will learn mindful techniques to remind us of the joyful moments in life. We will explore ways to enhance our lives despite the pain and ways to celebrate small wins. How can I use what I learn? You will be able to incorporate evidence-based techniques into your routine to help manage the aspects of chronic pain. These include pacing activities, setting realistic goals, and incorporating rest periods. The workshop provides practical knowledge and tools that you can incorporate into your daily life to better manage your chronic pain and improve your overall well-being. You will learn to identify what exacerbates your pain, allowing you to make informed decisions about your activities and lifestyle choices.
