Course / Workshop Content

Who is this for? This workshop is designed to provide information and support to anyone affected by low mood and depression and anyone supporting those affected by this. It will help you understand depression and low mood and put in place effective strategies to help you or those you support in yours or their recover. What will I learn? We will look at depression is and why it can continue, from a personal and individual perspective. In Part 1: We will investigate our own ways of experiencing low mood and depression and we will explore what beliefs might be holding us back. We will spend time being curious about our own patterns of thinking and how to challenge any automatic, negative thoughts. We will look at a set of techniques and tools that can help us deal with depression and low mood when life presents us with obstacles. In Part 2: We will look at ways to build some small changes into our life to improve and maintain our wellbeing and lift our mood, focus on our needs and values and build upon our strengths for recovery. How can I use what I learn? You will be able to apply the strategies we learn together to challenge the unhelpful thoughts that keep you trapped in low mood and look into values activities that provide a sense of purpose, achievement and belonging in life.
