Course / Workshop Content

Who is this for? This workshop is designed for anyone who feels they are currently in, or have previously experienced, controlling or emotionally overpowering relationships. It is particularly helpful if you would like to better manage the impact of such relationships on your health and wellbeing and develop greater emotional resilience. What will I learn? Controlling and emotionally abusive relationships are known to cause significant mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and feelings of isolation. By understanding these dynamics, you will be better equipped to protect your mental health and overall well-being. Research shows that recognising and addressing these patterns is essential for reducing the psychological toll of such relationships and promoting long-term mental health recovery. You will be better at recognising the signs of controlling relationships, including patterns of manipulation and emotional abuse. This workshop will also enable you to better communicate your needs assertively, create environments that are healthier for your emotional well-being, and build healthier, more empowering relationships. How can I apply what I learn? You will be able to apply these insights to identify and respond to manipulation and emotional abuse in your relationships. This involves setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, practicing assertive communication, and using other practical recovery tools shared during the workshop. These tools can not only help to reduce the stress caused by these relationships but also improves emotional resilience and self-esteem over time.
